TSAMTO, August 27. The holding company "Roselektronika" of the Rostec State Corporation presented the remote mine clearance machine "Foliage" to foreign specialists at the Army-2021 forum.
The machine developed by the Kaskad control center allows you to search for and eliminate explosive devices at a distance of up to 100 m using a system based on electromagnetic and induction means.
MDR "Foliage" can be used as a lead mine clearance vehicle in columns of armored vehicles, engineering troops, as well as to ensure the safety of humanitarian convoys.
"The main purpose of the Listva is the detection of mine – explosive devices, the destruction of engineering ammunition and improvised explosive devices," said Viktor Kladov, Director for International Cooperation and Regional Policy at Rostec. "The MDR is able to provide full protection for the column following it, effectively replacing an entire sapper unit."
During the forum, the car was evaluated by representatives of ten foreign delegations. The main interest is caused by a microwave emitter, with the help of which the detected charges equipped with electronic elements are cleared. The radiation "burns" the electronics of the explosive device, which makes the ammunition unusable. If a pressure-acting mine is detected, the crew, which includes sappers, decides on the controlled detonation or clearance of the munition.
To neutralize improvised explosive devices made with the help of mobile phones, the MDR "Foliage" is able to emit radio signals at frequencies characteristic of civilian electronics. Due to this, the detonation of the munition occurs at a safe distance when the mine falls into the range of the emitters of the mine clearance machine.
