Pictures of modified Tiger armored vehicles appeared on the network. The photos published in the group" Turned at War "in Vkontakte show cars with additional protection. According to the caption, the pictures were taken on the territory of the 201st Russian military base in Tajikistan, where unusual cars were found.
The frames show two armored cars of the Tiger family, presumably AMN 233114. The cars differ from the serial modifications by additional booking. So, on the sides of the body and the hood, blocks similar to the parts of the dynamic protection "Contact-1"are installed. The windows of the car were additionally reinforced with lattice screens.
Details of the modernization are not reported. It is also unknown whether the cars are small-scale equipment or the refinement of military personnel.
Back in the USSR, experiments were conducted to equip lightly armored vehicles with dynamic protection units. They showed that the detonation of the Kontakt-1 block can break through the armor of light vehicles.
The family of multi-purpose all-terrain vehicles "Tiger" has been produced at the Arzamas Machine-Building Plant since 2005. The cars of the family received air conditioning, an anti-lock system and the ability to install an automatic gearbox. This distinguishes the "Tiger" from the armored personnel carrier.
