TSAMTO, August 26. Russia has received new applications from the countries of Central Asia, Afghanistan's neighbors, for the supply of helicopters, small arms and border protection systems, the company's CEO Alexander Mikheev told RIA Novosti during the Army-2021 forum.
"We are already working out a number of applications from the countries of the region for the supply of Russian helicopters, small arms and modern highly effective border protection systems," he said, answering the question whether Central Asian countries are asking Russia for new arms supplies in the light of the aggravation of the situation in Afghanistan.
Alexander Mikheev stressed that Rosoboronexport is ready to help Russia's partners in Central Asia adequately respond to emerging threats and supply them with the necessary weapons and military equipment to protect the population, ensure sovereignty and independence.
