The AU-220M artillery module is designed for arming armored combat vehicles
KUBINKA /Moscow region/, August 26. /TASS/. The newest remote-controlled combat module (DUBM) AU-220M "Baikal" is at the final stage of preliminary tests. This was reported to TASS by the press service of the Uralvagonzavod concern (UVZ, part of the Rostec state Corporation) during the military-technical forum "Army-2021".
"The 57-mm artillery module AU-220M, designed for arming armored combat vehicles, is at the final stage of preliminary tests. Its state tests will be carried out according to a separate decision of the state customer - after determining the type of chassis for placing the combat module," the UVZ informed.
As the press service added, further modernization of the new DUBM is being carried out. "To equip the combat module with heavy IFVs, it is planned to increase the degree of reservation of the tower and the placement of a guided weapons complex," the concern noted.
DUBM AU-220M is the world's most heavily armed combat module for equipping armored vehicles.
The international forum "Army-2021" is held in the Patriot exhibition Center near Moscow from August 22 to 28.
