Kubinka (Moscow region). August 26. INTERFAX - The new remote-controlled Baikal combat module for armored vehicles is completing the preliminary testing stage, the press service of the Uralvagonzavod concern (UVZ, Rostec) told Interfax.
"The 57-mm artillery module AU-220M "Baikal", designed for arming armored combat vehicles, is at the final stage of preliminary tests. Its state tests will be carried out according to a separate decision of the state customer - after determining the type of chassis for placing the combat module," the press service said at the Army - 2021 forum.
The UVZ stated that in order to equip this module with heavy infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs), it is planned to increase the degree of reservation of the tower, to place a complex of guided weapons.
