Uralvagonzavod Concern (UVZ, part of the Rostec state Corporation) plans to modernize the T-80BVM tanks. The car will increase the main characteristics, including firepower and mobility, - reports TASS with reference to the press service of the UVZ.
The message published during the International Military-technical Forum "Army-2021" talks about the directions of modernization of the tank. UVZ plans to increase the parameters of mobility, security and command controllability of the T-80BVM.
The T-80BVM tank is an upgrade of the Soviet T-80BV. The development of JSC Omsktransmash (part of the UVZ) was first demonstrated at the Army-2020 forum. The machine received an improved gas turbine engine GTD-1250 with a capacity of 1250 horsepower, a new gunner's sight and a modified loading mechanism that allows the use of Lead and Lead-2 projectiles.
The security of the car was increased with a new dynamic protection "Relict" and a set of lattice screens. The tank can be additionally equipped with the Arena-M active protection complex. The command controllability of the T-80BVM was increased by installing the digital radio communication complex "Aqueduct".
