The head of the Defense Ministry noted that currently the production volumes of civil aircraft are insufficient
MOSCOW, August 24. /TASS/. The decision to allocate 340 billion rubles for regional or small aviation is unprecedented. This was stated by the head of the Russian Defense Ministry, Sergei Shoigu, speaking on Tuesday at the congress of the United Russia party.
"What is 340 billion for our aviation? Including or primarily for regional or small aircraft? Such money has never been allocated for this project and on this topic, " Shoigu said.
He noted that currently the production volumes of civil aircraft are insufficient. "And at the same time, those who live not only in Siberia - in the north, in the Urals, in Kamchatka, they know that every year there are fewer and fewer An-2 aircraft. There are practically no Mi-2 helicopters at all. Mi-8 helicopters, which in Soviet times the Kazan Helicopter Plant produced one piece per day - 365 helicopters every year, and this is not counting military equipment and some other things. And today such money is allocated, " he stressed.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the government plans to allocate 340 billion rubles for the renewal of the country's air fleet, including for sanitary aviation.
