MOSCOW, August 24. /TASS/. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that he had agreed with the head of the Russian Defense Ministry Sergei Shoigu on the construction of a new stage of the training and methodological center for military-patriotic education of young people "Avangard".
"The capacity of this center is 14 thousand people per year only for Moscow and 14 thousand for the Moscow region. We have agreed with the Minister of Defense to build another queue, thus increasing the quota of Moscow to 20 thousand children, which is almost half of all children who pass annual training camps. Then we will see how to develop it, " Sobyanin said at a meeting with teachers and school principals before the pedagogical council. He noted that in the Patriot Park, where the center is located, huge opportunities for students are organized, including landfills and exhibition centers are open.
Sobyanin also added that military-patriotic education, as well as education in general, " should take place on the basis of the school itself, and not only specialized teachers, but all teachers should be engaged in it, it is an integral part of the educational process." "Nevertheless, some common city projects will be developed," he said.
In addition, the mayor said, the Moscow authorities intend to index per capita funding for schools, it will be changed from January 1. "We have not planned yet, we have not considered the budget, but I have already said that we will index it, we have every opportunity to put this indexation in the budget for next year. So we will index it on January 1, " Sobyanin said.
About the educational and methodological center
In accordance with the federal law "On Military Duty and Military Service", students of schools and colleges must obtain basic knowledge in the field of defense, and young men - students of the 10th grades of schools and first-year students of colleges - pass 5-day training camps on the basics of military service. For their implementation, the government of Moscow and the government of the Moscow region created a joint educational and methodological center "Avangard".
The complex, which occupies 28.45 hectares of the Patriot Park, was built in 372 days: the solemn ceremony of laying the first stone in the foundation of the center took place on September 10, 2019, and exactly a year later-in September 2020, it was put into operation.
