MOSCOW, August 24. /TASS/. The Luna-25 automatic station is scheduled to be sent to the Vostochny Cosmodrome in early-mid-spring 2022. This was announced by the first Deputy General Director - General Designer of JSC "NPO Lavochkina" Alexander Shirshakov.
The launch of the spacecraft from the Vostochny cosmodrome is scheduled for May. "A month and a half before that, they should arrive at the cosmodrome, "Shirshakov said on the air of Rossiya-24.
According to him, the flight to the moon will take 12 days. At the moment, the company has to complete fire and complex tests. "We will fully check the operability of the device," he said.
Earlier, the press service of Roscosmos told TASS about the postponement of the launch of Luna-25 from October 2021 to May 2022. Before that, Dmitry Rogozin, the general director of Roscosmos, told about this probability in an interview with TASS. The transfer is associated with the need for additional confirmation of the declared characteristics of its devices, aggregates and propulsion system.
The automatic station will become the first domestic device in modern Russia on a natural satellite of the Earth. The press service of the S. A. Lavochkin NGO told TASS that the Luna-25 device will be manufactured and will complete tests in the summer of 2021. The Luna-26 mission should be launched in 2024, Luna-27-in 2025, Luna-28 - in 2027-2028.
