Khabarovsk. August 24. INTERFAX-FAR EAST-Two new corvettes - "Grozny" and "Buyny" -were laid down at the Amur Shipbuilding Plant (ASZ) in Komsomolsk-on-Amur of the Khabarovsk Territory, the press service of the regional government reports.
The command to lay warships for the Russian Navy at three shipyards at once - the ASZ, the Admiralty Shipyards in St. Petersburg and the Northern Machine-Building Enterprise in Severodvinsk - was given by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The ceremony in Komsomolsk-on-Amur was attended by Acting Governor of the region Mikhail Degtyarev, Commander of the Pacific Fleet Admiral Sergey Avakyants and former commander of the Russian Navy, retired Admiral, Vice President of the United Shipbuilding Corporation Vladimir Korolev.
"New orders for the enterprise are financial stability, loading at least until 2028. In addition to corvettes, ASZ also builds small rocket ships for the Pacific Fleet. This creates conditions for the modernization of the enterprise and allows us to count on additional support, " the press service quotes Degtyarev as saying.
According to him, the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin spoke about the support of the ASZ, visiting the enterprise during a working trip to the region on July 28. The acting governor noted that support is needed primarily in the construction of a new dock. The current one has practically exhausted its resource. Now the Russian government is preparing documents.
"Grozny" is a Russian corvette with guided missile weapons of the near sea zone. This is the fifth ship of the project 20380, which is being built at the Amur Shipbuilding Plant. "Buyny" is a ship of project 20385, a Russian corvette with guided missile weapons of the near sea zone. This is the first corvette of the new series, which will be built by the shipbuilders of Komsomolsk-on-Amur. It is designed in the development of project 20380. It is distinguished by more modern weapons, dimensions and has a displacement of 2,430 tons.
The Amur Shipbuilding Plant is a part of JSC "United Shipbuilding Corporation". According to the level of technical equipment, the company can build and repair vessels with a displacement of up to 10 thousand tons, a length of up to 190 meters and a width of up to 20 meters. ASZ has all the necessary certificates that allow it to fulfill military and civilian orders for the production of metal structures of any complexity in accordance with the norms and rules of domestic and foreign classification societies, including in the manufacture of objects controlled by Rostechnadzor.
