Rybinsk Shipyard (part of the Kalashnikov Group of companies of the Rostec State Corporation) has presented the first DS-RIB assault boat for special forces in Russia. It was presented at the Army-2021 forum, TASS reports .
The new boat is designed for the rapid transfer of special forces groups. To do this, the DS-RIB was equipped with a rapid air pumping system, which allows filling the boat from a compressed air cylinder in 45 seconds. The boat can also be transported on the external suspension of the helicopter.
DS-RIB is made using drop-stitch material, which is a polyester base fabric covered with a layer of PVC. "An inflatable deck made of this material replaces the folding hard floor used in inflatable boats," said Sergey Antonov, General Director of the Rybinsk Shipyard. Thanks to this, the fully inflatable boat received seaworthiness comparable to the seaworthiness of models with inflatable sides.
The boat is presented in two versions: the DS-RIB 450 can carry eight passengers, and the DS-RIB 540 model can accommodate up to 12 people.
