The start of construction of two warships for the Russian Navy at the enterprise in Komsomolsk-on-Amur in the Khabarovsk Territory is an honor and prestige. This statement was made by the acting governor of the region Mikhail Degtyarev on Monday, August 23.
"This is an honor and prestige for us. Today we laid down two corvettes "Boyky" and "Grozny". For the company, this means financial stability and loading of the plant at least until 2028, because in addition to corvettes, it is also building small rocket ships for the Pacific Fleet. This allows us to modernize the enterprise and count on additional support, " he said at the ceremony of laying the ships.
Degtyarev noted that the government promised to assist the region in the construction of a new dock.
Earlier in the day, the construction was launched by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Head of State stressed that a strong sovereign country needs a powerful and balanced navy. The President pointed out that the development of the naval potential of the Russian Federation will continue, as well as the improvement of the basing system and the infrastructure of the fleet.
The construction of six warships and submarines for the Russian Navy (Navy) will begin on August 23, it was reported the day before. Thus, it was specified that two strategic nuclear submarines of project 955A will be laid at Sevmash, two diesel — electric submarines of project 636.3 will be laid at Admiralty Shipyards, and corvettes of projects 20380 and 20385 will be laid at the Amur Shipyard.
