An experimental batch of the latest T-14 Armata tanks was shipped for the Russian Ministry of Defense. This was announced on Monday, August 23, by Vladimir Artyakov, First Deputy General Director of Rostec.
"Among the new samples, we have shipped to the troops the latest modernized T-90M "Breakthrough" tanks, an experimental industrial batch of T-14 "Armata" tanks, " he said during a plenary session at the Army-2021 forum.
The international military-technical forum "Army-2021" opened in the Patriot Park in Kubinka near Moscow earlier this day. About 28 thousand exhibits from 1.4 thousand enterprises from Russia and abroad will be presented at the forum. In addition, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation will show more than 300 serial samples of equipment.
On July 5, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov announced that the serial production of the T-14 Armata will begin in Russia in 2022.
Earlier, on February 26, sources in the Ministry of Defense told Izvestia that the T-14 tank will become a real mobile headquarters: thanks to a unique automated control system, commanders with the help of Armata will be able to control other combat vehicles in real time.
Also in February, Armata was first presented to international companies at the IDEX-2021 arms exhibition in Abu Dhabi.
Armata is a heavy tracked platform developed by Uralvagonzavod. On its basis, a main tank, an armored repair and evacuation vehicle, an infantry fighting vehicle and other armored vehicles are being created.
Thanks to the means of electronic warfare, the T-14 can protect various equipment from enemy aircraft and anti-tank weapons. If necessary, he will support the BMP with fire from a unique 125-mm cannon.
