The Kalashnikov Group of Companies presented at the International Military-Technical Forum "Army-2021" the latest S-8L corrected aviation missile with a semi-active homing head. Specialists are completing an initiative research work on its creation.
According to Andrey Semenov, First Deputy General Director of Kalashnikov, the S-8L can be used for various types of carriers, including helicopters and airplanes, unmanned aerial vehicles.
At the Army-2021 forum, the rocket was shown with a light helicopter-type drone.
The S-8L corrected aircraft missile of 80 mm caliber with a high-explosive fragmentation warhead is designed for high-precision destruction of single and group ground mobile and stationary targets. It will effectively cope with lightly armored objects.
The range of the corrected aircraft missile is up to six kilometers. From helicopters and aircraft, the S-8L will be launched from standard B8B20 and B8M1 type units.
