MOSCOW, 23 Aug - RIA Novosti. The concern of East Kazakhstan Region "Almaz-Antey" spent 73 billion rubles on the construction of a new production cluster in Kirov and Nizhny Novgorod, the company's general director Yan Novikov said.
"The construction of new production clusters in Kirov and Nizhny Novgorod has no analogues in recent history: enterprises of this scale and equipment were designed and built for the first time in the post-Soviet period, and it took only about five years to start production. The concern has invested over 73 billion rubles in the creation of these enterprises," Novikov said in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
The head of Almaz-Antey also said that 54 billion rubles were invested in the creation of a scientific and production technopark in St. Petersburg, where all the local enterprises of the company are gathered, including 25 billion rubles for technical re-equipment.
According to Novikov, today Almaz-Antey is solving large-scale tasks of re-equipping the Russian Armed Forces with modern models of air defense and missile defense systems.
"Only over the past 10 years, the concern's specialists have created and delivered to the troops a number of completely new air defense and missile defense systems, including the S-400 Triumph, S-350 Vityaz and S-300V4 anti-aircraft missile systems, Buk-M3, Poliment-Redut, Redut, Calm - 1, various modifications of the Tor anti-aircraft missile system, and other products, "the CEO said.
