A pilot project on digitalization of large-scale production has been launched in Penza. At one of the defense industry enterprises, which is part of the Rostec Group of Companies, they created their own production management information system, which was called "Platon".
The fact is that the plant produces electronic boards, both by order of the Russian Defense Ministry and for civilian needs. Further diversification of production has pushed industrialists to digitalization.
"The Platon system provides cyber-physical compatibility: machines, devices and people interact through the concept of the "Internet of Things". The uniqueness of digital solutions lies in the fact that we have implemented the functionality of different classes of information systems: PDM, ERP, MES, MDC and others. At the same time, any gateways in data conversion are excluded, " explained the head of the development team, Evgeny Simakin. - The data for the Platon system is taken from the machine racks in automatic mode with an adjustable interval, and also taken from the LOG file that each CNC machine creates. The efficiency of updating information allows you to calculate the efficiency of equipment loading, regulate the continuity of the workflow. Digital transformation leads to an increase in the company's profit."
As calculated at the plant, with the arrival of "Plato", the productivity of the technologist has tripled-from 176 to 704 new technological processes for the year, and the production of printed circuit boards in a difficult 2020 - twice as compared to the previous successful year. The designer's labor productivity has also increased, if earlier he created 77 printed circuit boards of average complexity per year, now it is 187 boards.
"Ten years ago, every manager, economist, designer, technologist had an average of one million operations per year. Now this number has increased by several orders of magnitude for various reasons: a sharp reduction in the life cycle of products, the need to produce civilian products in parallel, separate cost accounting. If you work the old-fashioned way, at some point the specialists will simply not cope with the increasing volume of tasks, and the line will stand up," explains Alexey Troshin, general director of the production association "Electropribor" in Penza.
The automated system was quickly implemented, because similar developments were carried out at the plant since the 1970s. Rostec intends to scale up the pilot project. The Penza enterprise is ready to become a platform for the development and testing of methods for assessing digital maturity.
Meanwhile,
According to the International Federation of Robotics (IFR), 373 thousand industrial robots were installed in the world in 2020, which is 12 percent less than in 2019. At the same time, the total volume of manipulators used in factories reached a record - 2.7 million units. Russia was not included in the top 10 countries for robotics. Singapore tops the rating, where there are 918 robots for 10 thousand people, followed by South Korea and Japan.
