Sergey Savelyev, Deputy General Director of the state Corporation Roscosmos for International Cooperation, told RIA Novosti that the corporation is considering the possibility of sending two tourists to the ISS on the Russian Soyuz spacecraft.
According to him, contracts with commercial customers are being prepared for signing now. Future space tourists are planned to be presented at the Astronautical Congress in the UAE in October. Saveliev noted that there are no Russians among those who have expressed their intention to sweat in space at the moment.
Saveliev noted that they will be able to fly into orbit only after 2023, since before that all the Roscosmos ships are scheduled. According to him, at the end of 2021 and in 2023, tourists who have placed an order through the American operator Space Adventures will fly on the Soyuz. The new candidates, Saveliev said, are negotiating directly with the Russian side.
On August 21, the orbit of the International Space Station (ISS) was corrected and raised to prepare for the flight of actress Yulia Peresild and director Klim Shipenko. In the near future, the station will host the shooting of the first feature film "The Challenge". The launch is scheduled for October 5 on the Soyuz MS-19 spacecraft. The group will spend 12 days in space and then return to Earth.
