Kiev. August 22. INTERFAX-UKRAINE-Ukraine will revive and strengthen its navy in order to unblock and make the Black Sea and Azov regions safer, President of the Republic Vladimir Zelensky said.
"We need the development of our Ukrainian Black Sea Fleet in order to unblock the Black Sea and Azov regions. Therefore, it was decided at the level of our state, at the level of the National Security and Defense Council, to make the Ukrainian fleet as powerful as it was 30 years ago. The fleet, thanks to which Russia would never have been able to illegally annex our Ukrainian peninsula. And now, from the tourist heart of Ukraine to make a militarized aircraft carrier, as I have already said for comparison, " Zelensky said at a press conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Kiev.
He noted that Ukraine needs the consolidation of all its partners in this issue, and "the Ukrainian state is working in this direction."
