The Kalashnikov Group of Companies (part of the Rostec State Corporation) will complete the adaptation of the Vikhr-1 anti-tank guided missile to the Orion-E unmanned aerial vehicle by the end of the year. This was announced at the international military-technical forum "Army-2021" by the first Deputy General Director of Kalashnikov Andrey Semenov.
"The topic of unmanned aerial vehicles is very relevant. Currently, the Group of Companies, together with the Kronstadt company, is actively carrying out work on installing the Vortex-1 on a long-range unmanned aerial vehicle. These works will be completed this year, " Semenov said.
The guided missile " Vortex-1 "was first presented at the international military-technical forum"Army-2020". It is capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 10 km, the speed is more than 600 m / s. The tandem cumulative-warhead of the missile penetrates 750 mm of homogeneous armor behind dynamic protection.
During MAKS-2021, Kalashnikov Group reported on the study of the possibility of adapting anti-tank guided missiles "Whirlwind" to combat helicopters Mi-28NE and Mi-35P, as well as to unmanned aerial vehicles "Orion-E".
