This was announced by the general director-General designer of the enterprise Alexander Leonov in an interview with TASS at the International Military-Technical Forum "Army - 2021".
"For many reasons, there are no plans to resume launches of Strela launch vehicles from the Baikonur cosmodrome," he said, answering a corresponding question.
According to him, the mine launchers for this type of missiles that were available at Baikonur "have now been transferred to TsENKI JSC.
The Strela launch vehicle is a liquid-fueled two-stage light class designed by the NPO Mashinostroenie on the basis of the RS-18 (UR-100N) intercontinental ballistic missile. The control system was developed by Kharkiv JSC "Hartron". The launch mass of the rocket is 105 tons, the payload is up to 2 tons.
The first launch of the Strela launch vehicle was carried out on December 5, 2003. The overall cargo model of the spacecraft was put into orbit. A total of 3 launches were performed, all of them were successful. In the second and third launches, the Condor and Condor-E spacecraft were put into orbit.
The Army-2021 Forum is being held at the Patriot Exhibition Center near Moscow from August 22 to 28.
