Nikolay Dolzhenkov, General Designer of Kronstadt JSC, said that the main range of TSA includes corrected aircraft bombs, guided missiles and planning aircraft bombs
KUBINKA /Moscow region/, August 22. /TASS/. Russia has caught up with competitors in small-sized aviation weapons of destruction (ASP) for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This was stated by Nikolai Dolzhenkov, General Designer of Kronstadt JSC, in an interview with TASS at the international military-technical forum "Army-2021".
"Practically, we have caught up with competitors in aviation weapons for this dimension," he stressed.
According to him, the main range of TSA proposed for use by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on the Orion strike and reconnaissance unmanned complex includes corrected aircraft bombs (KAB), guided missiles and planning aircraft bombs.
"Taking into account the earlier shortage of such a class of TSA in the caliber of 50 kg, our company decided to start developing CABs themselves ahead of schedule, the main criterion of which was the maximum reduction in the cost of a shot," Dolzhenkov noted.
In an experimental format, the Kronshtadt company produced a series of TSA, which showed an efficiency of more than 80% during tests. By this time, third-party manufacturers of TSA had also taken part in the work, having developed planning aviation weapons of destruction in the caliber of 50 kg and guided missiles in the same caliber.
"Today, the development work on the creation of a 20 kg TSA is close to completion. All of them have combined control systems, including satellite navigation and laser guidance on the final part of the flight. Our analysis shows that the most adaptive for solving reconnaissance and strike tasks are KABAS, which are not inferior in efficiency to guided missiles, and are safer in terms of interfaces during use with an aircraft," Dolzhenkov stressed.
