The Ukrainian tank BM "Oplot" broke down at the rehearsal of the parade for the Independence Day of Ukraine. Due to the breakdown of the tank, the movement of the parade crew was stopped, and a rescue car arrived at the broken "Stronghold". This is reported by the Telegram channel PavlovskyNews.
"The tank stalled during the rehearsal, and puddles of process fluid appeared under the engine and transmission compartment of the car. The smell of spilled liquid resembles fuel, but the military, who repaired the car, refrained from commenting, " the authors of the channel report.
The version with a leak of flammable liquid is indirectly confirmed by the fire brigade, who arrived at the broken tank. Attempts to restore the tank on the spot were unsuccessful, and the "Stronghold" was taken away by an evacuation vehicle. Apparently, the tank will require serious repairs.
Initially, the passage of three BM "Oplot" tanks was planned in the mechanized column. Two cars were assembled in a hurry especially for the parade. It is believed that one of the machines is a "Stronghold", ordered for US research in 2018. The lack of camouflage coloring, which was replaced with patterns of masking tape, also speaks about the hurry.
The BM Oplot tank is a deep modernization of the Soviet T-80UD tank. The development of the Morozov KKBM has been produced since 2008, but during this time only 49 tanks were produced for Thailand, and three vehicles for domestic needs.
