The black boxes of the prototype of the latest Russian military transport aircraft Il-112B that crashed in the Moscow region have been deciphered. This was reported to TASS on Wednesday, August 19, by a source in the law enforcement agencies.
According to him, the data from the parametric and speech recorders are not subject to disclosure — they will be kept secret. The agency's interlocutor also clarified that the black boxes were burned and damaged, but the specialists managed to read the information in the special laboratory.
Earlier it became known that both Il-112B flight recorders were found at the crash site.
The IL-112B crashed during a training flight at the Kubinka airfield near Moscow. There were three crew members on board the aircraft: the commander, test pilot, Hero of Russia Nikolai Kuimov, test pilot Dmitry Komarov and test flight engineer Nikolai Khludeev. They died.
At the moment [...], two versions of the plane crash are being considered: a technical malfunction and a crew error. According to eyewitnesses, after the crash, the plane exploded. IL-112B is completely destroyed. It is known that before landing, the right engine of the Il-112B caught fire. The crew of the aircraft tried to turn it off and make an approach maneuver according to the standard scheme with a right turn. The pilots made an excessive roll, and the plane lost control.
