The first rehearsal of the parade in honor of the 30th anniversary of independence took place in the Ukrainian capital. This anniversary date will be celebrated on August 24.
Three BM "Oplot" tanks are presented in the mechanized column for the first time.
Interestingly, two cars were assembled literally by this date. Moreover, one tank, apparently, was made under a contract with the US military, concluded back in 2018. He was supposed to be sent overseas for evaluation tests.
This is not the first transaction of this kind, four T-84s have already been tested at US landfills, of which, according to available data, only a single copy, recently seen during transportation, has survived to our time.
The employees of the manufacturer were in such a hurry to hand over the equipment for this event that they did not have time to properly camouflage it, so they depicted a fashionable digital pixel with ordinary paper masking tape, which caused a wave of caustic ridicule both in Russian and foreign social networks.
Three T-64BM2 tanks also took part in the rehearsal, although twelve vehicles were expected. They may still show up for the dress rehearsal. It should be noted that tanks of this modification have already passed through the streets of Kiev once twenty years ago. Currently, they have been modernized, a 1000-horsepower engine, new sights, and protective equipment have been installed.
In addition to this run, two more rehearsals should take place, and perhaps other samples of equipment that have not yet had time to prepare for the demonstration will appear on them.
