Technodinamika Holding of Rostec State Corporation has created an intelligent simulator that teaches the production and repair of ammunition for the Grad rocket launcher in virtual reality. The equipment has already begun to be used at the developer plant.
The VR system thoroughly reproduces the working processes, the specifics of working with special tools and even the features of materials. The VR kit includes a virtual reality helmet, gloves and hand motion sensor controllers.
Training on the simulator takes place in two stages. The first one is a training one. At this stage, the equipment forms practical assembly skills. The second one is a test one. This stage is designed to test the knowledge gained in the first stage.
"The State Corporation pays great attention to improving the methods of personnel training, including in the production of products for the military-industrial complex. The new VR simulator will simplify the training of new employees and reduce the study period by half. The solution will allow the personnel of enterprises to work out the algorithms of technological operations, having filled their hands in a virtual environment, and start real production, knowing all its aspects, which is especially important in the production of ammunition," said Bekhan Ozdoev, industrial director of the Rostec cluster of weapons, ammunition and special chemicals.
The new equipment is used both individually and in a group, according to the portal Weapons of Russia. The VR simulator has already been implemented at the Bryansk Chemical Plant, which is part of the management circuit of the Technodinamika holding of the Rostec State Corporation.
