Servicemen of the Eastern Military District at the Russian-Lao exercises "Laros-2021" in Primorye simulated a battle with an illegal armed group using interactive equipment with artificial intelligence. This was reported on Thursday by the press service of the district.
"Within the framework of the joint Russian-Lao military exercise "Laros-2021", held at the Sergeyevsky training ground in the Primorsky Territory, the headquarters of the exercise management used modern software and interactive equipment "Smart Headquarters" to simulate a battle with illegal armed groups and predict its results. The program and the equipment working with it in conjunction were created by the collective of the Combined Arms Army of the Eastern Military District as part of the rationalization work and are currently being tested in practice," the press service reported.
At the stage of making a decision on the defeat of the formation, the headquarters received approximate calculations and recommendations on practical actions of the troops. A 3D environment of the training ground and a model of the upcoming battle were created on the interactive screen. The conditional battle was controlled using a software voice assistant. As a result, the Smart Headquarters program and equipment helped in making a decision for the upcoming conditional battle with an illegal armed group.
Tank units of the combined arms army of the VVO stationed in the Primorsky Territory are involved in the Laros-2021 exercises from the Russian side. The servicemen are practicing joint actions in the fight against illegal armed groups. In total, about 500 military personnel take part in the exercises, about 100 units of military equipment are involved, including Su-25 attack aircraft and Ka-52 attack helicopters of the VVO.
The first joint Russian-Lao exercises were held in 2019 in Laos.
