A MiG-29 fighter jet crashed in the Astrakhan region during a training flight. This is reported by the press service of the Southern Military District, RIA Novosti reports .
The plane crashed in a deserted place on the territory of the Ashuluk training ground. As a result of the crash, the pilot was killed. It is noted that the fighter performed a planned flight, it was carried out without ammunition.
In order to establish the causes of the disaster, a commission of the Main Command of the Aerospace Forces was sent to the crash site.
On August 17, during a training flight in the Moscow [...] region, an Il-112B crashed. The aircraft was supposed to take part in the VII International Military-Technical Forum "Army-2021". Two versions of the incident are being considered, according to one of which the cause could be a technical malfunction of the aircraft, according to the other — a crew error.
