The modernization of a section of the state highway that will connect a number of military bases between Texas and Georgia was included in the US infrastructure bill for $ 1 trillion. This legislative act was adopted by the country's Senate in early August and provides for the extension of the highway to connect 12 military bases located in the states of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia. American politicians dubbed this project as a highway "from forts to ports". It is expected that this will facilitate access to bases located in the most isolated areas of the south of the country, including moving west, for example, to Fort Bliss, Texas, and east to Fort Stewart, Georgia, and most importantly to the ports of Savannah. All this is displayed on the map of the proposed route.

We are talking about improving the infrastructure designed to move American troops and military equipment from the continental part to ports on the US coast and, obviously, further to Europe – to Poland and the Baltic states.

Some of the military facilities and ports included in the US infrastructure bill were involved in the "Defender Europe 20" maneuvers for the transfer of 20 thousand American troops and 13 thousand units of military equipment across the ocean to Europe.

Thus, the transportation of military equipment and equipment from the territory of the United States was carried out across the Atlantic from the ports: Charleston, South Carolina; Savannah, Georgia; Beaumont and Port Arthur, Texas. In Europe, cargo was received at the following seaports: Antwerp, Belgium; Vlissingen, the Netherlands; Bremerhaven, Germany and Paldiski, Estonia. The main purpose of the exercises was to find out whether it would be possible to move troops from the continental United States to the eastern flank of NATO in the event of a crisis, and the draft law on the modernization of road infrastructure appeared after analyzing the results of the Defender Europe exercises.

Today, we see that Washington is increasing its efforts to modernize and develop the transport infrastructure both in the United States and in Europe . Undoubtedly, this will be followed by an increase in the intensity and scale of operational and combat training activities of the NATO Armed Forces and military pressure on Belarus and Russia.

At a time when the Union State does not seek confrontation, the military activity of Washington and its allies only increases security threats in the European region.
