Istanbul. August 17. INTERFAX-Rosoboronexport will organize a single Russian exhibition at the International Defense Industry Exhibition IDEF 2021, which will be held in Istanbul from August 17 to 20, the company said earlier.
"The IDEF exhibition is one of the ten largest world exhibitions of the defense industry and is one of the most significant displays of weapons in Europe. Rosoboronexport will present the latest samples of Russian military products in Istanbul, which will be demonstrated in Turkey for the first time, "said Alexander Mikheev, Rosoboronexport's General Director.
The company said that within the framework of the IDEF 2021 business program, Rosoboronexport will hold meetings and negotiations with representatives of the Turkish armed forces and other law enforcement agencies of the country, as well as with partners from other states of the region, it is planned to discuss the implementation of current contractual obligations and promising projects in the field of military-technical cooperation.
"Among the novelties are the fifth-generation Su-57E fighter, the K-63969 car of the Typhoon-K family, the Orion-E reconnaissance and strike UAV, the BK-16E boat for special operations, as well as the upgraded Msta-S self - propelled howitzer for 155 mm caliber adopted in NATO countries," said Mikheev, whose words were quoted in the press service.
Rosoboronexport reported that the S-400 system, Viking, Buk-M2E, Tor-M2E anti-aircraft missile systems will also be presented.
The Almaz-Antey concern said that they expect to expand the range of customers following the results of the exhibition.
"Taking into account the current difficult situation in the world today, our participation in the Aidef exhibition is primarily aimed at strengthening the image of the concern as a reliable supplier of exclusive defense products that contribute to preserving the sovereignty and security of the buyer countries, as well as expanding the range of potential customers of products," said Vyacheslav Dzirkalin, Deputy General Director for Foreign Economic Activity of the concern, as quoted in the press service.
As Interfax reported, Turkey bought four S-400 divisions from Russia. On October 23, 2019, Rosoboronexport announced that Russia had fulfilled this contract ahead of schedule by supplying Turkey with all elements of the S-400 systems, including missiles.
Russia has supplied S-400 systems to Turkey for $2.5 billion, the head of Rostec, Sergey Chemezov, reported.
