Moscow. August 16. INTERFAX-Specialists of the Observatory of the Astronomical Scientific Center (ANC), located in the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, will be involved in the creation of scientific equipment for the new Russian orbital station, the head of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin said.
"We will definitely involve them (specialists of the ANC-IF) in the creation of a Lunar scientific base and scientific equipment for monitoring outer space, which we plan to install on the Russian orbital Service Station," Rogozin said in Telegram.
On July 31, the Scientific and Technical Council of Roscosmos approved the creation of a new Russian orbital station.
Russia, as reported, has decided to build its own orbital station, an exit from the ISS project is being considered, and this is due to the deterioration of the technical condition of the Russian segment of the station.
"The Council of Chief Designers, having considered the current state of the ISS RS, noted that due to the aging of a significant part of the station's equipment, the further operation of the Russian segment of the ISS after 2024 creates additional risks," Roscosmos said in a statement following a meeting of the state corporation's Scientific and Technical Council (NTS).
Rogozin reported that about 80% of the equipment of the Russian segment of the ISS has exhausted its resource, and the cost of maintaining it after 2025 will be comparable to the cost of creating a new station.
