TSAMTO, August 16. The motorized rifle brigade of the ZVO, stationed in the Leningrad Region, received 10 modernized BMP-2M with the Berezhok combat module for service under the state defense order.
The vehicle is designed to transport personnel, increase their mobility, armament and security on the battlefield. The vehicle's armament includes a 30 mm automatic cannon and a 7.62 mm twin machine gun, anti-tank guided missiles, and an automatic grenade launcher.
The inhabited two-seat combat module B05YA01 "Berezhok" is a classic BMP-2 tower, but with an updated weapons complex. It has an improved combined sight with an independent line-of-sight stabilization system in two planes, thermal imaging and laser rangefinder channels, as well as a guided missile guidance channel.
By the end of the year, another 30 units of BMP-2M should be put into service with the troops of the ZVO, the press service of the district reports.
