A video has been published with the moment of the crash of a Russian Be-200 aircraft in Turkey, which was involved in extinguishing forest fires.
On August 14, the plane crashed in the east of Turkey near the city of Kahramanmaras. The plane was leased by the Turkish side from Russia.
Search and rescue teams were sent to the area of the crash site.
The Russian Defense Ministry told Izvestia that the plane crashed after completing the task when it was landing. On board were five Russian servicemen and three representatives of the Republic of Turkey, who pointed out to the crew the hotbeds of extinguishing fires.
A commission of the Russian Defense Ministry was sent to the crash site to find out the causes of the tragedy.
Wildfires have been raging in Turkey since the end of July. The first reports of them were received on July 28 from Manavgat, where 21 foci were recorded in 10 days. On August 1, it became known about new hotbeds in the resort of Bodrum, as well as in Adana, Kayseri and Mersin.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on July 31 that the law enforcement agencies of the republic had detained a suspect in the arson of a forest area. The fact that the authorities do not exclude the occurrence of forest fires in the south of the country as a result of arson, Erdogan said on the same day.
A day later, it was reported that the Children of Fire, a terrorist organization recognized in the republic, claimed responsibility for arson in the south of Turkey.
On August 12, Turkish Forestry Minister Bekir Pakdemirli said that all forest fires in the country have been brought under control.
