MOSCOW, August 13. /TASS/. Specialists at Baikonur have completed the assembly of the Soyuz-2.1 b launch vehicle, which, together with the Fregat upper stage, should launch OneWeb satellites into orbit on August 20, Roscosmos reported on Friday.
"Specialists of the subsidiaries of the Roscosmos State Corporation-the Yuzhny Space Center (a branch of the Center for the Operation of Ground-based Space Infrastructure Facilities) and the Progress Rocket and Space Center branch-have completed the general assembly of the Soyuz-2.1 b / Fregat/ OneWeb space rocket as part of mission No. 35," the message says.
As specified in the state corporation, the rocket is now installed on a transport and installation unit. There are no comments on the preparation of the components. "On August 14, a meeting of the State Commission on readiness for the export of the rocket to the launch complex is planned," Roscosmos added.
The launch of the Soyuz-2.1 b carrier rocket with the Fregat upper stage from the Baikonur cosmodrome is scheduled for 01: 23 Moscow time on August 20. It should put 34 British OneWeb communications satellites into orbit. Thus, the number of spacecraft of this group will reach 288. The withdrawal will take 3 hours and 45 minutes.
