The Vityaz machine-building company, part of the Uralvagonzavod concern of the Rostec State Corporation, has handed over a batch of DT-10PM two-link tracked conveyors to the Russian Defense Ministry. By the end of the year, the company will fulfill 2 more contracts.
Two-link transporters of the Vityaz series, called snowmobiles for their unique cross-country ability, are designed for transporting cargo and weapons systems in difficult climatic conditions of the Far North, Siberia, the Far East, the Arctic and Antarctica on soils with low load-bearing capacity: swamp, virgin snow, off-road, rugged wooded terrain. The carrying capacity of the Vityaz two-link tracked conveyors, which develop a maximum speed of up to 44 km/h on land and up to 6 km/h in water, ranges from 3 to 30 tons.
The peculiarity of the Ishimbai conveyors is in the unique two-link design. Both links of the machine are connected by a special rotary coupling device with hydraulic cylinders, thanks to which it is possible to rotate and fold the links in a vertical plane. "Vityaz" is equipped with wide rubber-metal tracks, which allow the equipment to be stable on soft ground. In a swamp or water, they perform the role of a "propeller". The first link of the Vityaz is equipped with a insulated cabin, an engine and transmission compartment (MTO) and a body (cargo area). The second link is used as a cargo compartment or for mounting various equipment or weapons.
Conveyors capable of operating at air temperatures from minus 50 to plus 50 degrees Celsius can overcome a wall up to 1.5 m high, a moat up to 4 m wide. Having a low pressure on the ground - up to 0.3 kg / cm2, they do not damage the vegetation cover in the Arctic regions.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation buys two modifications of Ishimbai transporters-DT-10PM and DT-30PM. The first machine is designed for the transportation of goods weighing up to 10 tons. The second, with a lifting capacity of 30 tons, is used for the installation of various weapons systems and equipment.
The Ishimbai enterprise produces the DT-30PM chassis for the installation of short-range anti-aircraft missile systems "Tor-M2DT", "Pantsir-SA". In addition, the chassis for the technical means of the rear services were adopted for the supply of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation: the Arctic fuel and oil tanker GTMZ-14-30PM, the Arctic kitchen KA-250-30PM, the Arctic bakery HPA-500-30PM, the Arctic tank CVA-10-30PM and the Arctic economic and storage module HSMA-12-30PM.
For the first time, the unique military equipment was presented to the public at the Victory Parade on Moscow's Red Square. In 2017 and 2018, the DT-10PM and DT-30PM transporters participated in the Arctic expeditions of the Ministry of Defense. They passed along the coast of the Laptev Sea - from the village of Tiksi to Cape Svyatoy Nos, crossed the Straits of Dmitry Laptev and Sannikov, Kotelny Island and the Novaya Zemlya archipelago.
Along with the execution of the state contract for the supply of such machines, MK Vityaz performs a number of development works both according to the technical specifications of the Ministry of Defense, and on an initiative basis for the enterprises of the fuel and energy complex of the country.
In addition, the military imposes certain plans on two-link light-duty trucks, which can be used for transporting personnel, VVST and VTI, towing artillery systems and trailers.
