MOSCOW, August 11. /TASS/. More than 450 aircraft will be involved in exercises on special types of support for military aviation, including long-range and unmanned. This was announced by the Commander of the Air Force, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Aerospace Forces (VKS), Lieutenant General Sergey Dronov.
"At the end of August, an exercise on special types of support for the aerospace Forces is planned at the airfields of the Western Military District, during which issues of preparation for the implementation of tasks for the purpose of aviation units of all types of aviation, including for the first time long-range and unmanned aircraft, will be worked out. In total, more than 450 aircraft will be involved in the exercise," Dronov said in an interview with the Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper in connection with the Air Force Day celebrated on August 12.
He noted that during this exercise, for the first time, military repairs of aircraft will be carried out by means of mobile technical and operational units with the involvement of repair crews of defense industry enterprises, including on the airfield section of the road.
