Moscow. August 10. INTERFAX-AVN - The Russian army will receive a batch of new T-14 Armata tanks this year, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexey Krivoruchko said.

"This year, 20 new T-14 Armata tanks will be delivered to the troops," he said on Tuesday at the single day of acceptance of military products at the Russian Defense Ministry.

According to him, the troops will receive 65 new T-90M "Breakthrough"tanks. This is the latest modification of the main Russian T-90 battle tank.

On March 4, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that the delivery of an experimental industrial batch of armored vehicles on the Armata platform to the troops is planned in 2022 - T-14 tanks, T-15 infantry fighting vehicles and T-16 armored repair and evacuation vehicles.

The head of the Rostec state corporation Sergey Chemezov and the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov previously announced the start of serial deliveries of armored vehicles to the army on the Armata platform in 2021.

In August 2018, Krivoruchko announced plans for serial deliveries of 132 T-14 and T-15 armored personnel carriers by the end of 2021.

Earlier, Yuri Borisov, when he was Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation (now Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation), reported that the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has a contract for the supply of two battalions of T-14 tanks and a battalion of T-15 BMP for military tests.

The T-14 is considered the world's only tank of the third post-war generation. According to military experts, "Armata" is a new word in tank construction, it has no analogues in the world. This is a fundamentally new and completely Russian development. The T-14 tower is uninhabited. For the first time, the crew is placed in an armored capsule, separated from the ammunition.

The equipment on the Armata platform is being tested, participates in Victory parades in Moscow.

The press service of the UVZ told Interfax that the T-14 Armata tank was tested in unmanned mode, but this combat vehicle was created for the crew.
