TSAMTO, August 10. Uralvagonzavod (part of the UVZ Concern is part of the Rostec State Corporation) has fulfilled its contractual obligations to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
As part of the state defense order, new and upgraded to the level of T-90M "Breakthrough" tanks were delivered to the troops. Vladimir Roshchupkin, Executive Director of the UVZ, reported on the implementation of the state defense order to Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu as part of a Single day of acceptance of military products.
"The preparation and development of serial production of T-90M tanks at the enterprise has been fully completed, positive results of qualification tests have been obtained," said V. Roshchupkin.
The T-90M tank is the most advanced machine in the T-90 family and the most adapted to action in the conditions of modern combat. During the modernization of the T-90 tank to the level of the T-90M, the design was subjected to deep processing. Thus, the tower was completely replaced on the T-90M, which made it possible to significantly increase the security, increase the internal reserved volume, place the newly introduced equipment and improve the working conditions of the crew. The introduction of a new turret also made it possible to redistribute the ammunition: this design solution significantly increases the survivability of the crew. The power plant, transmission system, and chassis have also undergone a deep modernization. Significantly increased the level of armor resistance.
The use of the newly developed commander's panoramic sight and an automated fire control system made it possible to increase the accuracy of fire, reduce the preparation time for firing. The tank commander, regardless of the position of the turret, can conduct a circular survey, search and recognition of targets, capture targets, carry out target designation to the gunner with automatic input of all corrections. After receiving the target designation, the gunner-operator only needs to press the button to make a shot.
The installed modern means of communication allow the tanks to operate in a single tactical control system in cooperation with other types and branches of the armed forces.
The T-90M is equipped with a diesel engine with a capacity of 1130 hp produced by ChTZ-URALTRAK LLC (as part of the UVZ Concern, it is part of the Rostec State Corporation). It provides the tank with high speed characteristics, fuel efficiency and a large power reserve, including at extremely high ambient temperatures, the press service of Uralvagonzavod NPK JSC reports.
