The Russian Navy will receive three nuclear submarines for service. They are planned to transfer them by the end of 2021.
This was reported to RIA Novosti by a source in the shipbuilding industry. We are talking about the strategic submarine of the project 955A "Borey-A" - "Prince Oleg", the multi-purpose submarine of the project 885M "Yasen-M" - "Novosibirsk" and the carrier of the strategic system "Poseidon", the special-purpose submarine "Belgorod". The latter is expected to complete the tests by September of this year.
RG has already written that the Belgorod nuclear submarine has returned to Severodvinsk, having completed the first stage of factory sea trials. Belgorod will serve in the Pacific Fleet. The submarine is an experimental submarine for Poseidon drones.
As for the project 955 "Borey" /955A "Borey-A", today there are four submarines of this project in the Russian Navy, several more are being built. Each carries 16 Bulava intercontinental ballistic missiles. "Prince Oleg", a representative of this series, also completed the first stage of testing.
It was also reported that in July of this year, a nuclear submarine of the project 885M "Yasen-M" "Novosibirsk" entered the White Sea for factory tests. On board the submarine, along with the crew, there was also a factory delivery team. "Novosibirsk" will go to serve in the Pacific Fleet.
