MOSCOW, Aug 6-RIA Novosti. The Russian Helicopters holding company (part of Rostec Corporation) has signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense for the "rejuvenation" of the Ka-52M helicopter, the work should be completed in 2023, the holding's general director Andrey Boginsky told RIA Novosti.
He recalled that as part of the previous OKRA for the Ka-52 helicopter, Russian Helicopters built four samples, the helicopters landed on the deck of Russian Navy ships.
"Now our task is to unify the conventional Ka - 52KM vehicle with the land version and conduct its tests in connection with the carriers," Boginsky said.
The Ka-52 helicopters are planned primarily for deployment on universal landing ships (UDC, helicopter carriers) of the 23900 project, which are currently under construction at the Butom Shipbuilding Plant (formerly "Gulf") in Kerch.
