Yesterday, photos began to appear of the remains of an alleged UAV shot down by militants or, more likely, by Turks in the western part of the Syrian province of Aleppo. Judging by the markings, these are the remains of our reconnaissance UAV "Outpost-R", which began to enter the troops last year.
"Forpost-R" is a "Russified" modification of the UAV "Forpost", a licensed copy of the Israeli UAV Searcher MkII, assembled at UZGA from kits of the Israeli company IAI since 2010. According to a source in the Ministry of Defense, in the new "Outpost" from the previous modification, only the external contours remained, and all the electronic component base, communication equipment, software and engines were replaced with Russian analogues. The main thing is that the Russian gyrostabilized optical-electronic surveillance system (GOES) is installed on the Outpost-R, a person close to the military department notes: according to the results of the war in Syria, it was found that the Israeli MOSP-3000 GOES is outdated and does not meet the required characteristics. Two types of GOES were created to replace it - GOES-4 (developed at the NPP "Aviation and Marine Electronics") and GOES-540 (developed by the Ural Optical and Mechanical Plant). Both turned out to be compact, which allowed to keep the mass of the UAV within 500 kg, says a person in the aviation industry. It is planned to equip the GOES-540 supplied by the Ministry of Defense "Outposts-R", he says. GOES-4 in the future can be used for deliveries to foreign customers.
