TSAMTO, August 4. The United Engine Corporation of Rostec has delivered another diesel-gas turbine unit (DGTA) M55R to the Severnaya Verf Shipbuilding Plant, which replaced foreign analogues on Russian frigates.
The power plant is designed for the Admiral frigate of the Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Isakov series.
The M55R is the first fully domestic diesel-gas turbine unit created by the UEC for the Admiralskaya frigates of the Project 22350 series under the import substitution program. The capacity of the power plant is 27.5 thousand hp.According to its characteristics, it is not inferior to well-known foreign analogues.
"The shipment of domestic units for the newest frigates is going according to plan. UEC Holding has already delivered the fourth M55R unit to the Severnaya Verf. This was preceded by mandatory bench tests, during which each power plant confirms the quality and reliability. The unit is intended for completing the third serial frigate "Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Isakov". Earlier, the Admiral Golovko frigate was equipped with engines of our production, "said Vladimir Artyakov, First Deputy General Director of Rostec State Corporation.
The M55R diesel-gas turbine units will be equipped with the frigates "Admiral Golovko", "Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Isakov", "Admiral Amelko", "Admiral Chichagov", "Admiral Yumashev"and" Admiral Spiridonov". The main power plant of each ship consists of two units-the right and left sides. The M55R consists of two engines, a gas turbine and a diesel engine, which provide a separate operating mode.
