TSAMTO, August 4. The factory sea trials of the large diesel-electric submarine of the project 636.3 "Magadan", built at JSC "Admiralty Shipyards" (part of JSC "USC"), have been completed.
The crew of the submarine and the delivery team of the Admiralty Shipyards successfully coped with the task. This was reported to the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov, at a working meeting where issues of underwater shipbuilding were considered.
The marine part of the factory sea trials of the Magadan diesel-electric submarine was carried out in 2 stages in the sea ranges of the Baltic Fleet. At the first stage, the tasks of signage and heeling were performed, noise level measurements were carried out, and the ship's magnetic fields were measured. At the second stage of the tests, the submarine passed high-speed, maneuverable and deep-sea tests. The functioning of the hydroacoustic complex, radar and communication complexes, power plant and life support systems of the submarine was checked. The Magadan submarine successfully completed all the planned dives, including deep-sea ones. All systems and mechanisms of the ship worked in normal mode, in accordance with the declared tactical and technical characteristics.
The Magadan submarine is the third submarine of the series for the Pacific Fleet, launched on March 26 this year in a high degree of readiness (91%). The submarine was laid down on November 1, 2019. It is planned that the Magadan submarine will be accepted into the Russian Navy by order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy in November 2021, the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Russian Defense Ministry reports.
