TSAMTO, August 2. The state tests of the logistics support vessel of the project 23120 Vsevolod Bobrov, built at the Severnaya Verf Shipyard (part of USC JSC), are being completed.
The tests took place in the Baltic Sea for a week. Based on their results, a decision will be made on the acceptance of the vessel into the Navy.
During the work, the state ship acceptance commission checked the main power plant in the full-speed mode of the vessel, the communication complex, navigation equipment, video surveillance, anchoring at the maximum depth and dozens of other points of the state test program.
"There are no serious comments on Vsevolod Bobrov. We plan that the acceptance certificate will be signed in the first decade of August, after which the commander-in – chief of the Navy will decide on the date of raising the Naval flag on the ship," said Igor Orlov, General Director of the Northern Shipyard.
The logistics support vessel Vsevolod Bobrov is the second vessel of the project 23120, built at the Northern Shipyard. The lead vessel "Elbrus" was included in the detachment of support vessels of the auxiliary fleet service of the joint Strategic Command of the Northern Fleet in 2018.
The Vsevolod Bobrov logistics support vessel is designed for cargo transportation, towing, hydrographic research, and assistance to ships in distress. Thanks to the crane equipment and the dynamic positioning system, it can perform loading operations at unequipped berthing walls and in the open sea. Automation class A1 provides maintenance-free service. The hull with the ARC4 ice class is designed to overcome ice with a thickness of 0.6 m.
The vessel is named after the famous football player and hockey player, Honored master of Sports, Honored coach of the USSR, Olympic champion Vsevolod Mikhailovich Bobrov (01.12.1922-01.07.1979), the only athlete in the history of the Olympic Games who was the captain of the football and hockey teams.
