Cosmonauts from the International Space Station (ISS) — Oleg Novitsky and Peter Dubrov — published a short video tour of the multipurpose laboratory module "Science". The corresponding frames on Saturday, July 31, were shared by Novitsky.
On the video, you can observe the internal structure of the multi-purpose module. A more detailed tour of the "Science"is expected soon.
"Together with Peter Dubrov, we welcome everyone from our new module "Science"! We will conduct a more detailed tour for you very soon, " the text of the message published on the Russian cosmonaut's Twitter page says.
Earlier in the day, on July 31, the general director of Roscosmos, Dmitry Rogozin, notified that the cleaning of the atmosphere was completed in Nauka.
On the eve of July 30, the module "Science", intended for the implementation of the Russian program of scientific and applied research and experiments, docked to the ISS.
Later, Oleg Novitsky on board the ISS informed the specialists of the Moscow Mission Control Center (MCC)about the unplanned engines of the Nauka module. Later, the astronauts reported that they were able to turn them off.
Roscosmos explained that the operation of the engines was connected with the process of transferring the module from flight mode to the "docked with the ISS"mode.
On July 21, the module was launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome on a Proton-M rocket and put into low-Earth orbit. On July 26, Russia undocked the Pirs module from the Zvezda module on the ISS to make room for Nauka.
In April, Roscosmos said that thanks to the Nauka module, it will be possible to conduct experiments in outer space without leaving the station, and an additional cabin for an astronaut will also appear.
