MOSCOW, July 31. /TASS/. The lead frigate of the ocean zone of the 22350M project with increased strike power will be laid at the Severnaya Verf shipyard in St. Petersburg in 2023. This was reported to TASS by a source in the military-industrial complex.
"The laying of the lead frigate of the 22350M project at the Severnaya Verf is planned for 2023, immediately after the commissioning of the new boathouse," he said.
The " Northern Shipyard "(part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation) did not comment on this information from the source to TASS.
Currently, the Severnaya Verf plant is building a series of frigates of the project 22350. Two of them - "Admiral Gorshkov" and "Admiral Kasatonov" - were transferred to the Russian Navy. Six more buildings, including modernized ones, are at different stages of construction.
Project 22350 is the most advanced and technologically advanced development of domestic shipbuilders. It is these multi-purpose frigates (patrol ships) that will become the basis of the Russian fleet of the far sea zone in the future. Their main strike weapons are from 2 to 4 universal ship firing complexes (UKSK) for 8 Kalibr-NK or Onyx missiles each. Then it is planned to build frigates of the promising project 22350M.
