MOSCOW, July 30. /TASS/. The latest domestic military transport aircraft Il-76MD-90A can be certified for the civilian market in the future. This was announced in an interview with TASS by the first Deputy General Director of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, as part of the Rostec state Corporation) Sergey Yarkov.
"The IL-76MD-90A aircraft has a modern flight and navigation complex and an on-board communication complex that allow it to fly, providing all modern requirements, including civil ones, laying the foundation for possible further certification of the transport vehicle in the civilian version," he said.
According to him, the new car has increased its load capacity from 48 to 60 tons, and the efficiency of the engines has also increased. "The new PS-90A-76 engines are superior in efficiency to the old D-30KP. Due to this, the range has increased, which allows us to plan transportation much more efficiently," Yarkov added.
Serial deliveries of Il-76MD-90A aircraft to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation have already begun. At the end of 2020, three cars were delivered to the customer. In the future, the company expects to produce 12 aircraft per year.
