Unprecedented exercises of the Russian National Guard troops have been completed at the Kadamovsky training ground in the Rostov Region. The course of the maneuvers was observed by the commander-in-chief of the Rosgvardiya, Army General Viktor Zolotov.
The legend of the exercises is relevant: a large group of terrorists attacked a warehouse with artillery weapons, and another group of bandits captured a small settlement. The law enforcement forces were assigned the task not only to repel the attack, but also to eliminate the militants.
In order for the events to be as close as possible to the combat ones, the village of Ivanovka was built at the training ground with a post office, a palace of culture and a church. About 4,000 servicemen of the Southern and North Caucasus districts of Rosgvardiya, as well as the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Federal Penitentiary Service participated in the operation to block and destroy terrorists. 12 combat and transport helicopters Mi-24, Mi-8 and Mi-26, unmanned aerial vehicles, armored vehicles, special engineering vehicles, buggies and other equipment are involved. There are more than 700 units in total. For comparison, in 1945, 525 armored vehicles were involved in the capture of Konigsberg.
The active phase of the operation with the use of mortars and helicopter fire support, the landing of mobile landing groups, the evacuation of civilians and the filtration of detainees, as well as the cleaning of Ivanovka, and the extinguishing of a forest fire took about two hours.
Army General Viktor Zolotov highly appreciated the level of training of special forces, and also paid special attention to the effectiveness of interaction with units of other law enforcement agencies. Addressing the servicemen and employees, the Commander-in-chief stressed that the set goals of such a large-scale exercise were achieved for the first time and presented departmental awards.
