Military pilots will be able to control the Su-57 multifunctional fifth-generation fighter with the help of eyes and speech. Special programs are being developed for this purpose.
As Nikita Dorofeev, the head of the cabin department of the Sukhoi Design Bureau, told the Arsenal of the Fatherland magazine, a person's pupil is constantly moving, scanning space, but a person does not notice this, RIA Novosti writes. And there are already prototypes of such a system. After a little training, you can press the buttons with your eyes, select the display frames that are displayed on the multifunctional screens in the cockpit of the fighter. An employee of the Sukhoi Design Bureau noted that while this method works well on the stand, everything is more difficult in flight.
Specialists are working on another possibility of controlling the aircraft - using speech. The system is taught to understand not specific memorized phrases, but the context. All this is done so that the pilot does not need to remember the phrase during the battle. As Nikita Dorofeev added, in the Su-57, the augmented reality system will be combined with a system of technical vision - optical cameras, including in the infrared range. They will be located in different parts of the aircraft.
