The Turkish company Baykar Makina, specializing in the production of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) Bayraktar, became interested in Ukrainian-made engines. This was stated by the general director of the company Halyuk Bayraktar, writes "Страна.иа".
According to him, Turkey has long paid attention to Ukrainian technologies, and since 2018, full-scale cooperation in the field of military industry has been conducted between the two countries. He stressed that now the Turkish UAVs of the new generation Akinci are equipped with Ukrainian engines, but in the future it is planned to integrate them into all the company's products, including the most modernized models.
"We are confident that through the efforts of our scientists, Turkish and Ukrainian, we will reach new horizons in the production of high — quality unmanned aerial vehicles," Bayraktar said.
On July 15, the Naval Forces of Ukraine received the first Turkish unmanned Bayraktar TB2 complex. Its final tests were carried out at the place where the Ukrainian Navy weapons were based. The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andriy Taran said that the complex will be used to monitor and cover the coast and waters of the Black and Azov Seas.
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky announced the delivery of Turkish UAVs for the Navy [...] in early July. According to him, Ukrainian specialists have already completed training on Bayraktar TB2 management in Turkey. He also noted that by 2023, Turkey will build a modern corvette for Ukraine.
