MOSCOW, July 27. /TASS/. Large-scale exercises of engineering troops with the use of military robots will be held at 12 training grounds of the Western Military District (ZVO). This was reported on Tuesday in the Russian Defense Ministry.
"Today, special exercises of engineering troops have started at 12 training grounds of the Western Military District, as well as on the Oka River section under the leadership of the chief of the Engineering Troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Yuri Stavitsky," the department reported.
As specified, military engineers will use robotic complexes of mine clearance "Uran-6" and fire extinguishing "Uran-14"in the course of performing tasks.
"The exercises are held in preparation for the joint strategic exercise "West-2021" and will be held at training grounds in the Nizhny Novgorod, Vladimir, Kaliningrad, Leningrad, Voronezh and Moscow regions and will last until July 30," the Defense Ministry said.
In total, more than 8 thousand servicemen take part in the exercises, about 1.5 thousand units of military equipment are involved.
